During Lent, I have decided to pray for one child with Down syndrome a day that they find a forever family to adopt them Reece's Rainbow. These children need our help!
The mission of Reece’s Rainbow is to rescue orphans with Down syndrome through the gift of adoption, to raise awareness for all of the children who are waiting in 25 countries around the world, and to raise funds as adoption grants that help adoptive families afford the high cost of adopting these beautiful children.
Every family deserves the blessing of a child with Down syndrome!!
Day 18: Andruis
I wish I could bring each and every one of these children home!! Andruis was born December 31, 2000. He has $7837 in grants towards his adoption. "Thank God for a new photo and updated info about Andruis! Andruis is a precious little boy who is 12 years old. He is a New Year’s Eve baby, so he brings the promise of great things in every new year!
Andruis has some hearing loss and wears hearing aids. He continuously receives speech and music therapy. As you can see from his photo, he is doing well, but desperately needs a family as he has been living at the institution since 2007.
Andruis attends the 5th grade at the special needs school. He is able to walk/run and is active. He smiles and is affectionate, but shy around people he doesn’t know. He does not have much speech at all, but so much of this is due to his poor hearing. Imagine how is world could open up with improved hearing aids! His entire world, everything he processes, is delayed due to hearing impairment….signing may be the key to opening his whole world. He is able to eat on his own. He needs help with self-care/hygiene. Andruis has SO much potential in a loving family. He’s been waiting SO long and has lost so much time when he should have been at home!
From his medical records: born premature at 35 weeks, 4th pregnancy. Down syndrome, cognitively delayed, cochlear neuritis – hearing impairment. Atopic dermatitis. Hypermetropia on both eyes. FULL MEDICAL RECORDS available upfront.
This is a GREAT country program, with excellent health and social care, and full medical records available upfront. Andruis has been listed with us for many years, it’s his turn to find a family! Interested families should be home study approved (or close to it) to adopt an older institutionalized child and should not have very young children in the home. Experienced adoptive families may be the best fit for Andruis. Please inquire! He is running out of time."
Please pray to Saint William of Rochester, who's sole purpose is to intercede with each and every one of these beautiful children that need their forever families!!

Dear Heavenly Father,
We thank You that children are a gift from You and that their angels are always in Your presence in heaven. (Matthew 18:10)
Today we pray for Andruis who is in need of a new family better able to care for, nurture and love them. We also thank you, Father, that you have given loving hearts to a forever family that they feel called by their love for this precious child to begin the adoption process. You know the difficulties that Andruis has gone through and the prayer and effort they have put into their decision to adopt.
We pray that the adoption process will run smoothly and that the doors will open so this child may become a permanent part of a new family. We pray for wisdom and discernment for all doctors, lawyers, social workers, judges and court staff that they will work in the best interest of this child. We also pray for Your provision of the resources of money and expert advice needed for the prospective parents.
We pray that your will be done in this precious child’s life and that this child will be surrounded by love and nurtured in the knowledge of You so they may grow into the strong, secure, beautiful person you desire.
We are asking for Saint William of Rochester intercession and help Andruis to find his permanent family.
Guide us as we pray and make us instruments of healing and help in this situation. And guard our own hearts with the knowledge that You are here and that You care. In the name of Jesus who blessed little children by taking them into his arms, Amen.
